About
Born and raised as the oldest of five children in Columbus, Ohio, by far the most valuable training Paul Venable received was through his family and was taught early, the value of work, personal responsibility and leadership. His parents also instilled in him a love of liberty and country. When his mother suffered from a debilitating illness, he also learned something of sacrifice as he helped his father care for her for over two years before she died at home at a relatively young age.
After attending the University of Cincinnati and the Ohio State University, Paul began a self-teaching regimen that has led to his current career in Information Technology Services. He now has over 20 years experience in this field as a salesman, sales manager, project manager, technical specialist and consultant for a variety of clients ranging from small business to large corporate and government entities.
When Paul met his wife Susan and then married her in 1984, they, with her three children became a new family. They have had two children together and there are now nine others who call them Grandma and Grandpa. They will celebrate their 25th Anniversary this October.
Attracted to the independent minded and liberty loving people of Idaho and the rugged beauty of the state, the Venable Family moved to the Treasure Valley in late 2004 and shortly thereafter Paul and Susan began presenting and hosting Constitution classes and teaching the principles of Liberty. As a personal outreach Paul has held and continues to organize public and private forums to teach these principles and of the power the people have in the Constitution. He also actively lobbies the Legislature in a private capacity for Idaho citizens and families on issues of tax relief, limited government, empowering the people and strengthening families.
Paul Venable was elected as Chairman of the Constitution Party of Idaho in 2006 and re-elected in 2008, and was recently nominated to be a delegate to the Continental Congress 2009 to be held in November of this year, nevertheless, he often refers to himself as a Common Citizen of Little Consequence, citing the words of his favorite President, Thomas Jefferson,
“Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves, therefore, are its only safe depositories.”
